Camden Conference Community Event

New Hope for Women will lead a Camden Conference Community event from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9th at the Rockland Public Library.  This pre-conference event will take as a premise that traditional and social media have a growing influence on the ways in which we learn, write, and speak about domestic violence. With Education and Outreach Director, Kelly O'Connor as presenter, attendees will explore the power of accountable language, how we talk and write about domestic violence and how this impacts our engagement with survivors and perpetrators alike, factors that may unintentionally perpetuate a cyclical narrative of victim-blaming. This is an interactive presentation that engages audience members in a variety of accountable language activities. The talk is free and open to all.
